Blanky Baby

Can you see her little toes...and the tip of her head poking out? Sweetie! I think I have my first Blanky baby. The other's have their bears and puppy...Piper has her blanky. And not just any blanky...her fleace blanky. The other's just dont work. If she is fussy and tired...give her her blanky and she is out! Mike said it took all of 15 seconds last night. I noticed the otherday she was rubbing her face with the blanket...and we usually find her completely covered by it. She has three fleace blankets...I am sure sooner or later she will pick her favorite. It will get toted around everywhere, worn and well loved.

Blankie Baby

Can you see her little toes...and the top of her head popping out. So sweet. I think I have my first Blankie Baby. The others have their bears and puppy...but Piper...she has her blankie. And not just any Blankie...it must be a fleece blanket. When she gets tired and fussy all she needs is to touch a fleece blanket and she is out! Mike said it took her about 15 seconds last night. I noticed when we put another blanket on her...she will fuss quite a bit. I also noticed the other day when I was holding her she would rub the blanket on her face. I think it soothes her. She has 3 fleece blankets...I am sure it wont be long till she chooses one of those to be her "favorite". It will get toted around with us everywhere...worn and well loved...just like Bear Bear and Puppy.

Nothing Exciting...

Not much going on today...except ALLERGIES!. Love'm. Woke up this morning with barely a voice. I was out late helping paint a mural for a Sunday School class last night. Mike thinks I am wearing myself out...going to paint again tonight. Have a birthday party tomorrow night for the kids to get ready for...then a Coug Game in Pullman on Thursday night, Ice Cream social for Emery's pre-school Friday and Ty's B-day on Saturday! I'm going to be exahusted!!! But it's a busy time of year right now...so I push on. Praying for cooler weather and for whatever is blooming and attacking me...to DIE!!!!

Oh Pips had her 6 month check up today...she's perfect!!! 90% for height and 50% for weight. 15.8 to be exact. Love her!

Cinderella...

Had to share a picture of Emery with some of her Birthday gifts. She hasn't taken off her costume yet. I think she will even be wearing it when we run some errands today. I also think it is fitting that she is holding a mop. How Cinderella of her. Yes we got her a mop for her birthday...albeit a little sexist, she loves to mop the floor with me. Ty's getting a broom for his b-day. My little helpers.

Birthday Time!!

On this day 34 years ago...this little man was born.

Exactly 30 years later to the day...his sweet Emery Jean graced our lives.

Today we celebrate both of their lives!

I love you!!!

On a side note...today at dinner when Mike said a prayer about Emery becoming a big girl...mommy started to cry. (man I cant believe she is 4.) Anyway, later on Emery asked "You dont like me being a big girl mommy?" Aww...broke my heart.

Scrapp'in

I went scrapbooking last night...wanted to share my project. I was pretty proud of myself for getting two layouts done. Goes by quicker now that I am more comfortable using my handwriting on a layout instead of computer journaling.

Couldnt pass up the opportunity to scrap Ty's Shiner. Funny man...

And I had to get their B-day Party from last year in the scrapbook before their next one on Wednesday.

Off to bed now...it's early but I am so sick and I have a Birthdays tomorrow...so I need my rest.

Shiner

Ty-Ty is all boy!!! Here is the pictures of his first black eye (kind-of) I cant really say he got this by being tough....nope. He got it while asleep... We heard what we thought was him falling out of bed then instant crys. When we ran in there...he was in his bed. It's kind of a mystery, but I think he was sitting up in bed (trying to play a little more) and fell asleep and tipped over onto the ledge of his cute little sports bed. Poor guy. Then to top it off he ran smack dab into the edge of an open door and skinned his little sore on the same eye. Tough 24hrs for the little man.

What Was She Thinking!!!

...was she reading my mind this morning when I was thinking how excited I am to take "first day of school" pictures of Emery this year...then cut her hair just to spite me? I know I will laugh at this someday...But I am not there yet! Maybe if it wasn't like her fifth time to do this. She knows better!! She said she did it because it was in her face and bothering her. Oh that is so not the truth. The girl wears her hair in her face everyday...I am the one always telling her to brush it out of her eyes...she could care less. She's Grounded!!! From What you say?...Treats. Emery lives for Treats, (gum, candy, dessert) I swear she thinks it is a rule to have dessert after every meal...yes even breakfast. So No Treats for Her {said in the voice of the Soup Nazi}. Now wait till her father gets home!!! ;)

Tag!

Here I go...I've just been tagged by Sherry.

So this is the challenge i've been given. List 5 of my idiosyncracies.

Here they are:
1. I twirl my hair when I am stressed, bored or in deep conversations.
2. Whenever I use a number to describe a large exaggerated something...it's always 55 Thousand.
3. I insist on always calling my brother Mike and my Husband Mark when they are around each othere. (their real names are the opposite of that)
4. I always sneeze in a series of 3.
5. I have to put one of my feet up on the sink when I dry my hair.

Okay...now Tag Jana and Misty Your it!

Ain't She Pretty?

Yup....can you believe I even took a shower and put on makeup today? This picture pretty much sums up my day. I'm Exhausted!!! I woke up with one of my eyes swollen shut...can you tell which one? They both look lovely don't they. Allergies are killing me!!!!! I need to go get tested and start taking shots. Couldn't do it last summer because I was pregnant. Can't do it this summer because I am nursing. Thankfully the allergies didn't start till August this year. But my poor right eye is taking the brunt of all of it. Mike came home from lunch one day and pretty much said he was afraid to look at me. (please don't worry...this made me laugh, not cry) I have a pile of laundry and a class list to get prepared...but just cant get to it (sorry Cassandra, I'll get it done.) Somehow I did find time to take this gorgeous pic though. I leave you with this cute one too...I promise it wont make your eyes burn in horror like the one of me.

"Attack of my Kids"

(I really wanted to say...Attack of the (insert last name) kids, but I am trying not to say my last name on my blog...just to keep some anonymity in case there are creepies out there searching blogs.)

This is Emery, Ty and little Maggie attacking Chris!!! And they were loving it. Especially Emery. We kept having to tell her to settle down, be gentle. I think Chris was somewhat enjoying it too. He was a good sport. Just wanted to give a shout out to Chris and Leslie. Thank you guys for coming to visit. We had a great time. It is so great to have friends that you can just hang out with and do nothing special, but still have fun. Where you can feel completely comfortable being yourself...not having to clean for them (just kidding...I cleaned). Anyway thanks again for visiting...your welcome any old time!!!

Cozy Kitties

This is proof that Doba loves Swogs. Came down stairs this morning and looked out the window for the boys...who were out running around the neighborhood all night. This is how I found them...cuddled up in a small flower pot I have...one I would love to have bright colored flowers in...but can't because the cats think its a bed. I really dont think it could be too comfortable for Swogs...doesnt look like he has much room. Sweet kitties!

I love days like today...(updated)

...you know, the really productive days that make you feel like you've got life all figured out...well, okay so I'm being dramatic. But it was a really good day.
~Was up and showered before Mike left to work
~Cooked pancakes for the kids.
~Had Dinner in the CrockPot before 10am
~Kids dressed and ready to go to Library with Grandma.
~Time to run with piper to Drug Store, Return Movies, and Big Grocery Shopping.
~ Arrive home just in time for Angela to bring me lunch. (thanks Angela, and thanks for helping clean up)
~Kids go down for nap. (okay so that took an hour)
~Had meeting with Bride.
~Contacted two clients about future meetings.

(Update: To top it all off...I got a request for one of my layouts to be published in Simple Scrapbooks Magazine~ AWESOME!!)

I wish all day's could be like today....
~Even got a page done....here it is... it was part of a challenge on 2peas to scraplift someone. (for those who need a definition of scraplift: to copy a design of someone else's layout)

okay...just did spell check on this thing...their suggestion for Crockpot was Crackpot...nice, and their suggestion for scraplifting was scrumpling...what the heck is that?!?

Play Date

I snapped this cute picture of Ty and his friend Gregory as they were building something today. It is so sweet to me. It is great to see Ty being the one playing with a little friend. With the difference between Ty and Emery's personalities, it usually is Emery (the more social/aggressive one) who is playing with a friend while Ty sits back and does his own thing. I think Daddy would be proud to see Ty building instead of playing "pretty" with his sister.

New Shoes!

I don't remember the last time I went shoe shopping for myself, other than $2 flip-flops. I so wish I could find the same pink shoes I got Emery and Piper in my size. Ty of course had to have Spidey shoes. Is it strange that I take pictures of my children's shoes? Hmm....

Living In Style

Just sharing a little pic of Pips. No she isnt that pale. I just was playing around in Photo Shop...Mike's trying to teach me ways to alter my photos. I think she looks like a little clown. She loves the bean bag by the way. (No she is never left unattended in it) I think she was watching "Dora" with her brother and sister. It actually might have been the episode where they teach the kids the spanish for Red and Green, Rojo & Verde...how appropriate with her bean bag.
Have a great weekend everyone!!

Another Napping Experience

This is what I found today when I heard what I thougth was Piper stiring after her Morning Nap. Had to find the camera really quick...then hurry to take the kids out of the crib. Not sure how much that little crib can take.

Summer Toes

I woke up this morning feeling stressed out...it took me a few minutes to figure out why I was feeling that way. Summer Time is almost over. And with the end of Summer comes a busy season of life in our house. Starting with BIRTHDAYS!! Mikes, Emery's, and Tys. And I have something inside of me that insist that I throw a big bash for the kids every year even though I tell myself after its all over, that I dont have to do it next year. O'well, the kids will remember having fun birthday parties...and that's what Im going for. End of Summer also means that Mike goes back to working 5 days...and then there's Football. Bulldogs on Friday nights, and Cougars on Saturdays. Dont get me wrong, I love football season...but it get's busy! I am adding another element to my life this fall. SCHOOL! Little Emery starts Pre-school in September. I cant believe it. She is so excited.
So although the fall is my favorite season, I think I will miss the lazy summer days. I wont however miss the Allergies...off to put drops in my eyes...

A Serious Discussion about My Hair!

Okay...seriously now. What is with my Hair? I love these two pictures of Piper and I(grammar?) isn't she just sweet....But I cant take my eyes off of my hair. What is with it? For those of you who don't know me too well...I am prematurely Grey!! Lots of it...Therefore, I color...And I miss my real hair color, whatever it was. You can see my roots in the first picture very clearly...Notice the lovely silver undertones. When I saw the second picture I couldn't believe how blonde I am. When did that happen? I just cant seem to get the right hair color. So my friends...(or any strangers lurking) please feel free to share your hair color advise for me. I NEED IT!!!!. As far as style...Well that's another discussion all together!
(please let me indulge in my self-centeredness for a spell)

It's Officially the Start of Football Season

Or at least in our house...Cougar Football Camp has begun...thus a good excuse to fly the new flag. Thought I would share a pic of it waving in the Eastern Oregon Wind.

Weekend Recap

We had a blast this weekend up at my parents. My sister Jill and her family were in town. Got to meet her little twins for the first time, Jeb and Annie Moon. They are so sweet! Just wanted to share a few pictures.

My Man!

It was brought to my attention that I dont have enough pictures of Mike. This picture was taken almost 7 years ago, a couple of weeks after we met. Isnt he cute!~ Right now I am typing on our new laptop Mike surprised me with...sitting in my adorondak chair he also surprised me with watching him build a killer swing set for the kids. Mike spoils us!! He loves spoiling us! Today when he came home for lunch and saw our kids playing in the sand box (he also built) he turned to me (with a little tear in his eye) and said "it makes me so happy to see them enjoying something I made for them. Mike your are truely an awesome Husband, Father and Man. We are blessed to have you. Love you!

Just an average day!

Okay...so I dont really have anything monumental to say, so I thougth I would just share a layout I did for The Daisy Bucket Grand Opening. It's Titled WINK. Funny story about this layout. So circles are kind-of big in the world of design lately...so I wanted to make a cicle layout. And loved this paper by Doodle Bug. Anyway, I used Mike's garbage can to trace a large circle and left a straight edge on the left, where I was originally going to place Emery's Picture. I stitched the circle on the page and then got a design freeze. I just couldnt figure out what to do next. This was at about 11:30 pm and Cassandra was over chatting after a long day of building and painting at the store. She wisely told me to go to bed and come back to the page in the morning. So in the morning I came back to my desk only to find that little miss Emery had stamped on the circle paper!!! Remember I stiched it on the page...so there was no taking it off. Therefore her lovely picture had to go right over her "artwork". Although I was frusterated that she got into my stuff, it actually turned out pretty well. (Mike had told me to put the picture there originally, he's a scrapper at heart). I did however have to find a way to cover the straight edge of the circle...hence the ton of ribbon. Well, thats my adventure for the day...off to let the kids play in their new sandbox...Mike bought us a laptop...so soon I can blog in the back yard while they play away!!! Fun stuff!

My Girls!

(edited 8/17, had to take the layout down for a while...it will be published in the Janurary issue of Simple Scrapbooks Magazine. I will repost it once it is published.)

This is a layout I did for Casandra to use as a sample in her store when it opens this weekend. I am also trying to work on journaling with my own handwriting. I think the layout looks better in person than on screen, but still wanted to share. Here is how the journaling reads:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I always thought I wanted more boys than girls. I thought it would be easier. I cant imagine life without my girls. I know between the mix of personalities, hormones, and attitudes life should be an adventure ahead of us. (poor daddy and ty)
Here are a few things you should know. I am first your mom. With that comes discipline, nurturing and lots of advise. I love you two so much and I will fight for you when necessary. I too was once a girl (not so long ago) I have gone through maybe everything you will go through. So no matter how old and “out of Date” you may think I am, I understand you. I know what it feels like to have friends hurt you, but on the same hand I have tasted the richness of true friendship. I know how it feels to fall in love, and to have your heart broken, or to have to break a heart. When you ask me “how will I know if he is the “One”? Believe me when I say “you will just know” I know how scary it is to start making decisions for yourself, and inevitably make mistakes. And I know how it feels to have a mom hold my hand through it all. So remember I will be that mom who holds your hand when your friends hurt you, when you don’t make the team, when you have your first kiss or first fight, when you find the one God has set apart for you, and when you feel the pain and sure joy of childbirth. I LOVE MY GIRLS! I have been there, done that! So trust in me and lean on me, so we can truly share this adventure together.
