February Flicks

Just some random snaps to wrap up the month that flew by. Lovely post surgery shot i know. This is the very naughty patient who took his bandage off 2 days after surgery because the itch was so bad. Notice the "yes" that informed the doctor what knee to cut.

Piper loving one of the puppies that will soon find new homes. Much to Angela's relief!

My heart shaped pizza I ordered for Valentines...Papa Murphys!

This nummy wine Mike got me went very well with the Pizza. Love the logo.

Maverick with a rare opportunity "chillaxin" with mama on the daybed. (love that word Jota!)

Piper holding up her one-of-a-kind Dora Art commissioned by Angela and Darrin. She loves it!

Ty update: after one day of antibiotics he's perked right back up and wondering why he cant play with the neighbor kids in our 68 degree weather.

His Big Imagination

Ty is our thinker. You see this in the questions he asks, in the stories he tells, the way he watches movies, and when he plays with his toys. He doesn't just mindlessly play with toys...he dives in and becomes one of them. He doesn't just watch movies, he interacts with them. For example...if he is watching Snow Buddies, he gathers up all his stuffed dogs to watch with them, Star Wars, he collects up ever single one of his dozens of figurines and they act out the movie along with it. And there was a time when he was so into Toy Story and couldn't watch it without Buzz and Woody watching along with him.

Here are some pictures of him becoming one of his toys. My parents gave him this box of tiny pirate figurines, ships, cannons, maps, etc. So one day he was in his room playing with them...and he came out in his pj pants and boots. It really isn't unusually for this boy to strip down several times during the day but I had to ask why he put new pj pants on. I instantly knew the answer when he held up this one pirate. He had to become him to fully be able to play with him. I love the way this little man thinks.

Lady Piper's Tea Room

Piper had her very first Ladies Tea for her birthday this weekend. It was so fun. All her little girlfriends, and a few big ones too dressed in their finest for cakes and crumpets (okay not really crumpets).

DJ was the one little boy allowed (besides Ty). He was our official waiter. Here he is taking a break at the "helps" table. Thanks buddy.

And thank you to all of Piper's little friends who came to celebrate her! She felt very special.

Piper's Gallery

I forgot to put the link to the rest of her gallery
Here it is:

Expressions of a Three Year Old

Our little ray of sunshine turns three today. Just typing that makes me well up with tears. She is the happiest little girl I know. Always full of smiles from the moment she wakes, till she goes to bed (with a few tears and fits in-between). I only wish I could be more like her someday...

I love you so much Piper Corean....thank you for your Joy!

Happy Birthday!

~Love, mommy.

Another Date...

...this time to the hospital....at 5:30 am...for knee surgery. Yes, I always take my camera on our dates.

Pretty sure Mike wanted to hold up more than just his fist in this picture. Three attempts with the IV (one with a extremely bent needle). Here he is waiting in line in the surgery ward, about to go under the knife, with no IV. Good thing the anesthetologist was a pro at IV insertion, because if not...he may have caught the Hot one from Red!
Minutes out of surgery Mike is back to checking his email....And then calling into to work to help in a technical situation. Never a day off.
Here he is finally resting...with the Fat Cat. Doba is loving having Mike home to sleep with all day. Anyway, the surgery was quick and easy (well so the Doc said.) And Mike is doing well, and get's to rest for the remainder of the week, hopefully.

Oh...and the cool part to having to wake up at 5:30 is we saw the Meteorite enter the atmosphere and burn up right before our eyes. The entire sky went from pitch black to bright like the Noon day sun in a matter of seconds. For one of those seconds I thought for sure Jesus was coming back. That would have been cool, then Mike wouldnt have had to have knee surgery ;).

Toby, Jeremy & Friends

Mike and I got a night out last night. PF Changs and the Toby Mac, Jeremy Camp concert. I cant tell you how much fun it was! We have seen Jeremy Camp before...but this was our first time seeing one of our Fav live. Toby Mac and the Diverse City Band did not disappoint.

And the best part...when Toby Mac decided to stroll through the crowd and stopped on our seats to sing to the entire Toyota Center. I share this because it is so cool....but hesitantly because I completely Dorked Out.

Toby getting helped back up on stage by Bj.

And here he is standing on Crystal's seat singing my favorite song. I have more pictures...but I emailed them to the other couples so they could post them on their blogs.
