Vacation Here We Come

I am tying up all loose ends before we head out tomorrow for vacation. I still need to pack and mop the floor for the house sitters but otherwise I feel pretty ready.

If you don't know already we are headed to Wisconsin. I know what you are thinking..."why Wisconsin?" We have gotten that a lot. We decided for this years vacation we wanted someplace we could plant ourselves down and not feel like we had to rush around to see all the sites. Mike's family (Uncle, Aunt, Cousins) have cabins on Lake Wisconsin. They are graciously letting us use one! So not only will we have a full week or so relaxing and playing on the lake, we also get to visit with some relatives. Michelle, Kirby and the boys are coming to stay too since it isn't too far from where they live. The kids are so excited!! Ty might even get a little fishing in with either his Uncle Kirby or his great uncle Bob.

As for me, I plan on sitting back and reading books, drinking wine and coffee with my sister. (and Mike, but he wont do the coffee part)

So far the summer has been busy. I still haven't had a chance to get Emery's pictures developed from camp and I am kicking myself for that. Ty has had Golf Camp all week and he seems to be enjoying it.

As far as the house situation goes, we spent several weeks getting it ready to sell, it looks great. We have had some interest in it, but nothing serious. Today we got an offer (unofficial) for 35,000 below our asking price. Um No. However, in the last week we have been really thinking hard on if selling and moving is what we want to do. We have found two houses that we like, but both would need some work. One is brand new and needs the basement finished, one is really old and needs some serious updates. We just keep coming back to the fact that we love our house...everything about it, aside for it's need of a bedroom and separate office.

When we return home from vacation we have a couple of contractors coming out to put bid on an addition, a much smaller addition than we had originally planned, but hopefully more cost effective. So we shall see. I am hoping some time away helps put some perspective on what we really should be doing.

I leave you with a few random pictures: Ty's very proud of his "Golf Pack"

Piper all proud of her helmet and pads. Her little legs are finally long enough to reach the pedals on her little bike. She feels like one of the big kids now.

And my miss Em. Loves wearing a swim suit. This one she got from Angela's Modbe Samples.

The 4th on Vashon

We went to Vashon Island for the weekend to celebrate the 4th of July with some old, and some new friends. It was so fun, and so relaxing! And I came home probably 10 lbs heavier! Ugh! The kids had so much fun too. Ty became the "fire starter" and a "bottle rocket launcher". He is so proud of his accomplishments :). Emery had fun "tattling" on mommy and daddy to our friends ;). And Piper pretty much remained silent the whole weekend, playing shy.
Here's a link to a slide show with some more pictures: http://www.definingdetails.com/slideshows/4thofJuly/

Home For Sale!

I know I have been a slacker on the blog. I feel like life has been a whirlwind! I do have fun pics to share eventually. Pictures of camp, VBS, etc...

But for now all I have been focusing on is getting this house on the market. It is official!! The house is for sale. I can not tell you how tiring it has been getting it ready. I am convinced those who always have a neat and tidy house...have no life other than cleaning. I just don't know how they do it. But the house is in tip top shape...now if we could only live somewhere else to keep i that way till it sells.

Here is the link to our listing. We are going to try to sell it ourselves...so spread the word.

T-Ball Finale!

Mike, as team parent, had the perfect end of the season party and awards ceremony planned for the Barnett & Moro team. Most everyone showed up to celebrate as well as play a parents vs. kids game. All the grills were in action and everyone was sitting down to eat as we looked up to see big brown clouds rolling down the hill towards us. Food consumption sped up rapidly, Coach Cam started handing out awards like crazy. And then it hit us with a slam of wind, sand, tumbleweeds and a few branches. Everything went flying...and so did the people. I have never seen a party break up so quickly.

These pictures were taken right before it all began, sunny and peaceful...

The awards...

And there you go...the end of another season. On to big boy ball next year.

Piper's Last Day

Last Thursday was Piper's last day of school. It's always so bitter sweet. Especially this year since I know I will not be having anymore kiddos going thru Miss Tammy and Miss Suzy's class. This brought on a few tears. They both have such special gifts for the little three-year-old's hearts. We will miss them dearly. Oh man, what a mess I will be next May when I say goodbye to the pre-school completely. (okay, let's not go there!)
Here are the highlights. Fun playing at Megan's house with all her little friends. Although, you will mostly see her and Zeke in the pictures ;).

Bye Bye Fishies

So some of you know that Mike and I are looking for a bigger house. That means getting this sweet little house of mine Sell Ready. So the Fish must go. Sad...Ty had a hard time, but I took pictures and told him we would make a scrapbook of all the rooms so he could always remember this house. (thank Crystal for that idea!) I think it will be really hard on me when it comes to painting my kids rooms. Oh the love and attention that went into painting those! Ugg! What an emotional process this past two weeks have been, and it is only the beginning.

And just a random of Piper playing in her little house (aka, mommy's boxes from the lab)

American Idol

Love this season...love this winner!! (and I so love this song he is singing in this video!)

Key to 9 Years of Marraige.

So a few of you know that on Tuesday Morning as we were all getting ready to head out to school we realized the the key's were locked in the van. Not just the main set, but the spare and the Valet key. Yup...all in the van. My husband pursed his lips and kept quiet while he called the locksmith. Never did he open his mouth to express his frustration. Good man!
So last night, on our anniversary, when we were seated at our table at the Farmer's Kitchen there was this bouquet of 9 keys to the van. It took me a bit to realize what it meant, I'm slow! Seriously...who thinks of this kind of cleverness. Only Mike.
Thanks honey for finding humor in this :).
