Seems like just yesterday, I still remember thinking after all the buzz and excitement wore off, you were sleeping and so was Emery, and I just sat and stared at her in her little "bed". I was so in love with her and excited for her life to begin, then it hit me, I am responsible for this person for the next 18 birthdays, and I was a bit overwhelmed. It was the first time in my life I didn't have the option to say "I'm tired of this" so that feeling was a lot to take on, but it's been a blessing. Even the little "stinker" moments she's had, my life would not be whole without her or any of my family! We got to spend the first 4 months together, just daddy and Eme, and that will always be special to me.
