Daddy takes Cupcakes to School

A special part of sharing a birthday is that Emery gets to have her daddy bring the treats to her class so they can both be celebrated.

6 years ago today....

...they shared their first birthday together. I cant help but cry when I see this picture. I love you both very much. Happy Birthday Mike and Emery.

~This is Six~

Im a mom of a 1st grader...

...and it feels a tad strange.

She did great, had fun, but couldnt remember really what she did all day except recess twice. I thought she would be exhausted but she said she wasnt. It wasnt until after I went to check on her in her room (for a time-out) and found her fast asleep that I knew she was wiped.

Horses, Goats & More Horses.

So the kids got their first taste of riding horses this summer. Once with their cousins and some family friends when we were up for the wedding. Our friend Ben owns, breeds and trains horses. Here they are on Butterscotch.

Then they got to play with the goats out at Angela and Darrins. Awe the joys of farm life.

Struggling with Discipline

We have been struggling with finding the best form of discipline for a child that is very strong. We've tried everything short of beatings and are still searching for answers. But coming home to this the other night was very sweet. Wish I could say the next day was better...but nope.

Cousins on the Beach

One of the best part of being in Seattle a couple weeks ago was watching my kids play all week with their cousins that they rarely get to see. They had so much fun on the beach everyday!

Luke & Alec are my sister Michelle's boys. Annie Moon & Jeb are my sister Jill's twins. Kingsley & Kael are my brother Mark's boys. (there are 3 other cousins but they were not there.)
