My New Favorite Picture!

It was taken by my "second shooter" J-dawg Sousley ;).

And look how cute it looks in my new "wink" picture clipy thingy that Molly brought me because she loves me and thought of me when she saw it! Thanks mols.

And just because she is hilarious and this picture is so her! Miss Leah (the youngest school principle I know. So proud of you girl!)

Good time's in Yaki-vegas yesterday! It's just a reminder I need to make an effort to see my friends more often, even if it is just for a few hours.

Just Because...

...I thought she looked so sweet this morning. Piper's not the only one loving piggies.

His Heros

This morning we enjoyed some warm sunshine before the wind blew in.
She won't stick her little tootsies in the sand box.

Fun Friday.

Dad showing Ty some moves to get him ready for his game tomorrow.

Wild piggys on pippys! She's so darn cute!

Emery getting brave on the monkey bars.

Mike surprised the kids today by taking off early and taking us to the movies. "Meet The Robinson's". Very cute movie, although Piper got scared pretty early on and Mike had to take her home. Not unlike me when I was her age and my parents had to call grandpa to pick me up. Of course that movie was "Star Wars".

Happy weekend!

Just a daily capture.

Just remembering to capture the little things in my kids life. Like their different taste in breakfast. Anyone want to a guess on who's cereal is who's? Usually it's two orders of eggs (for ty and pip) and an order of cinnamon toast for em.

We're getting over our 3rd bout of Ebola (oh I mean the flu). This time it hit Mike and I. The kids had to fend for themselves yesterday...begging the neighbors for food. (just kidding)

Well, the house is clean and kids are napping so I am catching up on emails and the third movie in the "Love's Come Softly" series. So long for now!

Soccer Time

Today Mike and I took a break from sitting on the couch feeling queasy (yes again!) to take Ty to his first organized sport. Indoor Soccer! He was so excited, he danced during the whole practice (literally, splits, spins and all)...then ran after the pack during the game...stopping by to tell us he was getting sweaty!

A little bit of coaching and practicing before hand.

Ty running after the pack and a little pep talk from daddy after falling.

And teaching the kiddos sportsmanship.

Um...does this make me a soccer mom?

Getting Geared Up.

The last couple of days I have been getting all geared up for the start of my photography career (officially). I have 4 photoshoots in the next week. One starting in about an hour!

So I've been busy getting files organized, contracts written, my forms all in order. Today I practiced a bit outside shooting my kiddos. Emery's not feeling well, so her pictures turned out a tad pale. So did Ty's but thats nothing new. I also figured out a way to show a sample of how a picture might look on a Gallery Canvas Print. (see my last post on my photography blog for a real example of a Canvas Wrap.)

Well, here's to a busy weekend. Here's hoping we all stay healthy and the weather stays nice.

An Award for Emery and a Deep Question from Ty.

We were so excited to go as a family to a special awards ceremony for Emery's school today.
She was awarded a special achievement in Numbers. She gets that from her daddy...Not me!
She was so cute...was all shy and blushed a ton when she went to the front. Of course I teared up a bit, good thing I could hide behind my camera.

As the teacher's started the ceremony and we sat with our butt's squished onto tiny kids chairs Ty looks at me and asks (rather loudly) "Do they know Jesus?" I shooshed him and said I didn't know. (not quite sure who the "they" were). Then a few seconds later just as loudly he said. "My Teacher's know Jesus!" and then another few seconds later. "Emery knows Jesus."
Wow...i just thought that was an interesting question and observation on his part. Pretty thought provoking. Made me wish for a christian school for my kids (beyond pre-school). Although I really do love the school they go to and the teachers there.

Easter Pictures.

Coloring Eggs, fun and messy!

Searching for Eggs.

Loved having my family here. We had a surprise visit from Mark & Stacey and their boys. Sweet little Kael with his freshly broken arm in a sparkly cast.

All dressed up!

Love these pictures. Piper's showing us an empty purse as if saying..."what, there's nothing in it?"

The Greatest Story Ever Lived and Told

In honor of Easter, I wanted to share my most favorite children's book and it's message:

The Tale of Three Trees A traditional Folktale, retold by Angela Elwel Hunt

Once upon a mountaintop, three little trees stood and dreamed of what they wanted to become when they grew up.

The first little tree looked up at the stars twinkling like diamonds above him. "I want to hold treasure," he said. "I want to be covered with gold and filled with precious stones. I will be the most beautiful treasure chest in the world!"

The second little tree looked out at the small stream trickling by on it's way to the ocean. "I want to be a strong sailing ship," he said. "I want to travel mighty water and carry powerful kins. I will be the strongest ship in the world!"

The third little tree looked down into the valley below where busy men and busy women worked in a busy town. "I don't want to leave this mountain top at all," she said. "I want to grow so tall that when people stop to look at me they will raise their eyes to heaven and think of God. I will be the tallest tree in the world!"

Years passed. The rains came, the sun shone, and the little trees grew tall.

One day three woodcutters climbed the mountain.

The first woodcutter looked at the fist tree and said. "This tree is beautiful. It is perfect for me." With a swoop of hi shining axe, the first tree fell. "Now I shall be made into a beautiful chest," thought the first tree. "I shall hold wonderful treasure."

The second woodcutter looked at the second tree and said, "This tree is strong. It is perfect for me." With a swoop of his shining axe, the second tree fell. "Now I shall said mighty waters," thought the second tree. "I shall be a strong ship fit for kings!"

The third tree felt her heart sink when the last woodcutter looked her way. She stood straight and tall and pointed bravely to heaven. Btu the woodcutter never even looked up. "Any kind of tree will do for me," he muttered. With a swoop of his shining axe, the third tree fell.

The first tree rejoiced when the woodcutter brought him to a carpenter's shop, but the busy carpenter was not thinking about treasure chests. Instead his work-worn hands fashioned the tree into a feed box for animals.

The once-beautiful tree was not covered with gold or filled with treasure. He was coated with sawdust and filled with hay for hungry farm animals.

The second tree smiled when the woodcutter took him to a shipyard, but no mighty sailing ships were being made that day. Instead the once-strong tree was hammered and sawed into a simple fishing boat. Too small and too weak to sail an ocean or even a river, the was taken to a little lake. Every day he brought in loads of dead, smelly fish.

The third tree was confused when the woodcutter cut her into strong beams and left her in a lumberyard. "What happened?" the once-tall tree wondered. "All I ever wanted to do was stay on the mountaintop and point to God."

Many, many days and nights passed. The three trees nearly forgot their dreams. But one night golden starlight poured over the first tree as a young woman placed her newborn baby in the feed box.

"I wish I could make a cradle for him," her husband whispered.

The mother squeezed his hand and smiled as the starlight shone on the smooth and sturdy wood. "This manager is beautiful," she said.

And suddenly the first tree knew he was holding the greatest treasure in the world.

One evening a tired traveller and his friends crowded into the old fishing boat. The traveller fell asleep as the second tree quietly sailed out into the lake. Soon a thundering and thrashing storm arose. The little tree shuddered. He knew he did not have the strength to carry so many passengers safely through the wind and rain.

The tired man awakened. He stood up, stretch out his hand, and said, "Peace." The storm stopped as quickly as it had begun.

And suddenly the second tree knew he was carrying the King of heaven and earth.

One Friday morning, the third tree was startled when her beams were yanked from the forgotten woodpile. she flinched as she was carried through an angry jeering crowd. She shuddered when soldiers nailed a man's hands to her. She felt ugly and harsh and cruel.

But on Sunday morning, when the sun rose and the earth trembled with joy beneath her, the third tree knew that God's love had changed everything.

It had made the first tree beautiful.

It had made the second tree strong.

And every time people thought of the third tree, they would think of God.

That was better than being the tallest tree in the world.

I love Baskin & Robins!

And it was worth the 2 hour drive there, and 2 hour drive back for my 2 scoop Jamoca Almond Fudge Hot Fudge Sunday, with whip cream, nuts and a cherry. (Les, is this taking you back?)

Actually we were driving our nephew Riley (from Vegas) back to meet Greg & Ryan (Mike's brother and another nephew) half way to Seattle. We thought we would just make it a family road trip!

Great to see Greg and Ryan for a few minutes too.
As you can see Ty was a bit grumpy and didn't want to join in on the family photo.

Stella Meet Stan.

So as you might be able to tell from the title of this post STELLA is back! Yeah, she's all fixed up and all cleaned up and ready to go. I had to practice with some of the settings today to make sure that the problems were worked out so I took some pictures of the things I listed in yesterday's post. Oh and who is Stan you ask? Well as most of you know i am completely spoiled by my husband. After maybe teansy bit of whining that my laptop was acting up, Mike brought home a spanking new, shiny, fast mother of a laptop yesterday! Yup, I'm spoiled. I don't whine at all about diamonds or I know we would be in debt ;).

So now that Stella is all cleaned up we have Stan for super fast downloading, major storage and editing fun! Cant wait to play with more pictures on this machine. Thanks honey!

My flowers, or in the case of the tree, lack of flowers. The red barn. And some outside play. Emery being the constant poser. Great because she love's her picture taken, not so great for the natural emotion I like to capture. Sure does capture her personality though.
