April Apertures

I'm posting my April recap now despite the fact that I feel like poop! The flu bug arrived at our house on Saturday and hit me hard last night. I have a pounding headache right now and just want to curl up. But alas, I blog because I have been a bad blogger this past month and need to check this post off my to do list that is mounting! So here you have it...

Ty all geared up with the cool stuff Mr. Wamsley sent him from Boise...thanks Brady!

and here were are all bundled up for a very cold nature walk with his class. This is the one and only picture I took of the blessed event ;). Darn wind.

What would a monthly recap be without a sweet picture of the little ones.

It was take your child to work week last week. Since Mike was in Nashville the whole week he had to cram them all in on Friday. Not sure how much work he accomplished that day. Although apparently he put them to work answering all the email he came back to.

Miss Em had her last art class. Here she is displaying her talent. She loved it and I hope to be able to sign her up for Art Camp this summer.

Okay...I finally made it to an awards assembly. Yeah! She got an award for Academic Achievement. So proud of her.
And some backyard random fun.
Expressions of a 3-year-old.
Expressions of a 1o-month-old
My bug collector. His daddy even trapped a wasp in this little vial for him. Anyone that knows Mike knows that means he loves is son very very much.
Mr. Always A Project to do on a Saturday. Burning the tumble weed time...as well as a few hairs on his arm.

And there you go...the exciting life of Us.
Back to bed now.

Im here in the Sun

Sorry about no posts. I have been taking pictures of my kiddos playing in the sun. But my usb jacks on my computer are ppptttthh (that's a sound of a zerbert). In other words there out. So I can not download pictures easy right now. If I turned my fat bootie around and used Mike's computer I could...but that would be exerting too much effort...oh and his comptuer doesnt process raw files so never mind.

Anyway...just a note to say all is well mom :) Just have nothing to post right now.

Sweet Sleep

One of my favorite moments of mommyhood is watching my sweets sleep. I could just sit and stare at them. So this week while Mike was in Nashville they each got a turn in my bed. I had to capture the innocence. Now if I could just figure out how to capture the look on their face right after they awake and see their mama...it's just as sweet.

"If My Mom Had 10 Arms"

A short story by Emery Jean:

If my mom had 3 arms she could climb a mountain.
If my mom had 4 arms she could walk 4 dogs.
If my mom had 5 arms she could take care of a store.
If my mom had 6 arms she could play games.
If my mom had 7 arms she could read lots of books.
If my mom had 8 arms she could watch me play at the park.
If my mom had 9 arms she could make lots of art.
If my mom had 10 arms she could clean up the kitchen.

(this makes me giggle in so many ways) But she's so right about the last one!

Princess Movies

I love them! I know I'm girly so that's probably obvious, but they are my favorite movies to watch...especially with my girls. (well some of them my girls can't watch yet).

Here are a few of my favorites:

The Princess Diary 1 & 2

The Princess Bride

Ever After

And my new favorite that I love and so do my kids:

Enchanted

It's cute, funny and I love the hidden similarities to all the other Disney princess movies. I am not necessarily recommending this to everyone who has children my kids age. You should check it out first before you think it's okay to let your kids watch it because there is some adult issues and scary scenes in it.

So what is your favorite Princess movie?

The Sun's Out

Time for Playing in the water:

& Sunbathing their white transparent bodies:

Well, this one isnt white...but he still enjoyed a nap in the warm sun.

We had a busy weekend! I worked all day Saturday so Mike was on duty...in that time he managed to:
~Take the kids for a walk to Wally world for donuts and juice in the morning.
~Wash his truck.
~Clean up the yard and around the outside of the house.
~Take the kids up to Red Robbin for "Tip a Cop" lunch. Benefiting the Special Olympics. I was able to meet them there on my way back from a session in Walla-Walla. My kids are very much in love with Red Robin as I always have been. NUMMY FAT BURGERS & FRIES.
~Let the kids frolic in the sprinklers with the neighbor kids.
~Take the kids to the Sparrow Benefit Dinner.

I'm pretty sure I would not have been that ambitious if it was just me and the kids. But I am very thankful my husband is!

Cheer Gym

Here's a little plug. If there is anyone out there interested in signing your daughters (or sons) up for an All Star Cheer team, there is a new gym opening up on May. It will start out having cheer classes (cheer, tumbling, dance) for ages 3-18 (or adults). Email me (Shannon "at" definingdetails.com) and I will send you the information.

T Ball Ty

So I'm a little emotional about my little man in T Ball. I'm not quite sure why since baseball in general is not my favorite sport to watch (or play...flying balls anyone?!)

I do know this: There is a little spark in Ty when he puts on his mit, when he's up to bat, when he's out in the outfield sporting a true outfielder's stance, when his daddy stands right next to him as a coach. That is why I'm loving this (so far, it's only been one game folks).

Here is Ty & Greg in the outfield. For being their first time on a team these little dudes really knew how to mimic what the big boys do. You should see Greg wind up to throw.

This is how much they won by...just kidding. They don't keep score. As you can see in this picture, Ty didn't quite get the whole walk past the other team and give them 5. He needs more coaching on that one.

This is what got my emotions started I think. These pictures were taken on Saturday at Opening Ceremonies. All the little t-ball teams got to parade in, running around the bases before the Big Boys and Girls came out. I sat there watching with tears in my eyes. Not necessarily about Ty but about the start of it all for some of these kids. Some of the tiny little boys and girls will be in baseball all the way through high school and maybe college....and here on this day was where it all began. I found it sweet that I got to see the future of some of these children start on this field.

First Communion

For some churches it is more celebrated...but for us it was just a sweet little conversation between a six-year-old and her daddy in church yesterday before the plate was past her way.

(I'm blogging this not as an attempt to be showy about my daughter...but to keep a record of it for when she's older and ask when she started understanding and participating in something so important to her faith.)

A little help for my other blog

Hi there...so I have a "contest" going on my other blog for my seniors. Senior whom I know have seen the contest (at least most of them) but are either too shy...or perhaps a tad too cool to participate. Either way if you are local and may know some of the seniors participating can you go over there and make a vote.

~Thanks.

Tub Dreaming...

...someday I dream of a sacred space of my own in the form of a bathroom....

But for now I am content with this...................
