My New Favorite Pic!

Love these girls! This was outside of Artsy Fartsy, where we went for Emery's b-day party. I'll have a fuller post in a few days when I have more time. But I just wanted to share this one, and how much I had fun watching these girls in their element. I drove them all up in the van and the ride up was full of giggles...and much entertainment from the two comedians in the group, Morgan & Mylah!
The ride home was so awesome! It was late and dark. The girls asked for the radio. I had almost burned a disc of Hannah Montana for them, but decided against it. I am so glad I did. I turned on K-love. And a Rockin Mini-Mobile Worship session began. So cute! All five of them, dancing, singing, raising hands in Praise. It was so fun to see and experience. I love that they all are comfortable enough to share this together. And I lost it a bit when Amazing Grace came on and all 5 of them sang pretty much the whole thing.
So much cooler than Hannah Montana (no offence Miley ;).

I'll share more pictures when I return on Monday from shooting a wedding in Portland.

Enjoy the long weekend. You can click on the picture to see it in full effect. Oh, and check out Emery's shoes. I want a pair!

It's Birthday Time!

Happy 7th & 37th to two of my favorites!!! I tried to convince Mike to do a photo shoot for his birthday...but he wouldn't have it. So you get to enjoy just my little fashionista Emery!

I put some more on my photography blog or you can see them all HERE. Just ignore all the pricing and stuff. I used her images as a sample gallery to show some of my clients my new shopping cart.

We Survived!

The first day of school that is. Just a few tears from this mama as she walked down the hall away from Ty's class...well, and then the entire drive home. :)
Emery opted to wear some new school clothes. Of course! Ty on the other hand didn't want to be too hot so wore his favorite summer outfit and new shoes.

Yes, I know my son looks a little like a ragamuffin. He's growing his hair out like a surfer...and he managed to spill milk down the front of his shirt right as we were leaving to school. Nice!

Ty sprang out of bed in the morning when I woke him up. Which is very unusual. He does not like to be woken up one bit!!! He couldn't wait to get to his class. He was all excited about getting homework. (which he didn't get)

Crossing the walk. I remember crossing the street when I was in kindergarten. Although I thought when the guard said walk in-between the white lines that meant walking right on top on one of them. Took me a few days to get what she was really saying. Seriously, how do I remember that...but nothing else from childhood, or yesterday for that matter?

Emery got to pick out where she wanted her desk to me. I was hoping she would pick the very front....but nope, all the way in the back. Oh dear!

And Miss Pip missed all the excitement. She slept until 9. Thanks to Grandma that came over so Mike and I could take the kids to school. She was rather happy that she could choose her own cartoon to watch. Dora it was!

So Second day there were a few more hitches. Ty didn't want to be woken up. Then the whole lock down of the classrooms until 8am kind of threw the "Mike taking the kids to school" up in the air. They were a little discombobulated when they were shuffled to the library instead of their classrooms. Ty got several warnings for being too squirrelly. Emery however got to ride the bus for the very first time and she was very stoked! Since school gets out during nap time I reluctantly went back on my No Bus rule. She loved it! I of course drove to school this afternoon (thanks to grandma again for coming over so the little ones didn't have to wake from nap), shuffled her on to the right bus and then followed it home to make sure she got off at the right stop. I know...a tad over protective, but she's safe!

the Green Project Progress

I thought I would answer my sister's question about how it is looking through a post.

Well...here it is in all it's disheveled glory. I stopped the priming process after the eye incidence.

Hoping to feel a tad better this evening to finish the priming and get the living room back in order...maybe.

The TV is temporarily on the coffee table to get a proper height analysis of where we want to put it on our entertainment center (which will come sometime after the painting is done)

No I am not going for Sea Foam Green. Although it is nice for many other's homes. It doesn't scream Shannon one bit. The sea foam is just the primer. The color on the bottom left of the above wall is more the color I am going for. And a shot of my powder room...just to show you all that I have decided to have a fresh start and paint over the Orange. This room will be a lighter shade of the green on the outside.

Twas the Night Before School Starts....

...and all three of my babies are tucked snug in their beds. It's 8 o'clock. School Year Bed Time!

I thought I was doing really well today emotionally that is. Aside from waking up with a nasty cold or something and therefore not getting any of my to-do's for my housework done today. I was starting to really feel good about the kids going off to school. No tears. That was until bed time prayers. When Mike started in on thankfulness for all the summer events and then praying specifically for each of the kids school year...That's when I lost it.

All this emotion this year is really surprising me. See...I have always looked forward to year when each of my kids was in school at the same time (even if only for a few hours for the little ones). But man...i sure am going to miss their little buns. Especially my little mans. Not that I love him more...of course not. But he is just my little home body. I thought he would dread going off to school. But he bounced around his new classroom today when he met his teacher and then told me when we returned to the car how excited he was for school. I secretly wish he wanted to stay home with me more. Oh I am praying I don't loose it in the classroom tomorrow!!!

Tomorrow I will start setting my alarm for 6:45 am on a regular basis. I haven't had to do that folks in nearly 7 years! This new start time should be interesting.

Okay, and for a bonus tip for the day: When you are sick with head congestion that feels like you're an orange being squeezed for Dole, don't paint your walls....

for this is what will happen....beware it is a frightening picture.

Yes...that's primer right in my eyeball. How I handled grabbing the camera and taking a picture before rinsing it out I dont know. It's the obsessive blogger in me I guess.

off to take theraflu!

Oh dear...here come the tears!

I had to take a break. A break from designing Emery's birthday invitation. Her SEVENTH invitation. I still remember designing the little ladybug invitation for her FIRST birthday.

Who would have known that typing out "7th" in photoshop would send me into a serious tearfest. It's Just Too Fast!!!

Okay, in need some chocolate now!

Target!

Yesterday was one of those days where Mike and I both felt we had a Target on our Back. If things could go wrong...they did. (aside from the blessing of Doba coming back).

I was really wishing I was back up in the mountains like we were this weekend shooting at a target instead of being one.

Here's to better aim today!

He's Back!

I nearly lost it when I said prayers with the kids last night asking for Doba to return. And then cried myself to sleep last night. I just got a call from a lady down the street saying she thinks she saw him. I ran down there while I was on the phone with her. And sure enough he was on the neighbor's porch swing. He ran and hid in the bushes...but let me get him out. He's home now, with a fully belly and up in Emery's bed snoozing away. Although he's still a little spooked. Maverick will be staying outside all day until Doba has re-adjusted!

Missing

Mike and I are pretty sad over this. Our sweet cat has been gone since Wednesday. Thanks to our "sweet" dog who scared most of his 9 lives out of him. I don't think the kids really get that he may not be coming back. We are out putting up signs this morning.

The County Fair. Whoop Whoop!

Watch the progression here on Piper's face. I couldnt help but dye laughing. Poor thing.
