Lil' Builder

The first Saturday of every month Home Depot puts on a workshop for little builders. It's Mike and Ty's special time together. This month was a grandparents workshop. Ty had been looking forward to building the Bird House they were advertising. However no one informed the public that the workshop was moved to a town 35 miles away. So after Mike gently complained they gave Ty his first HD apron and a kit to make his very own Tool Box. He was excited. They promply took it over to Grandpa's garage and began the building process. Grandma pulled out an old hammer she found and gave it to Ty. Turns out it was Mike's first hammer. How special. Ty has been carrying it around in his new tool box.

How cute is that! I didn't know about the kids club! My boys love to go to Home Depot with their Daddy! Especially when there is a "Tony Stewart" cart available!

For those of you who are not blessed with a husband with a passion for NASCAR...that's a shopping cart with an orange race car strapped on the side! William's favorite the "#20 orange car"!

I thank God every day for giving me my three sweet boys! I can't imagine our lives without them!

These are the memories that make you take a step back and say, "Yep, I love my life"! Even on the hard days!

Super Cute.
John and Deven have been meaning to go to a Home Depot workshop.
That is cool that you got that cool stuff from them. I giggled about the Home Depot apron with the Ace garbage can in the background! :) FUNNY!

That is so sweet! What a fun thing to do with his Daddy (and Grandpa). I love the comment about Mike "gently" complaining!

Those are special times. Boys love that stuff and feel so "big" when they make something. I remember a few years ago when Luke made a birdhouse with so many nails that if a bird actually flew into it he's get stabbed. It was cute.

Great Daddy and Son time, he's a carpenter in the making for sure.
How fun that he has his Daddy's first hammer, hopefully he uses it just on the things he's building and not on anything else.
He can make some fun stuff this summer when he comes to the beach, Grandpa has nails.
Love, Mom

Way to go Ty! Keep up the hammering and sawing and you're bound to be headed to stardom... maybe to replace Ty Pennington on Extreme Home Makeover in a few years!!
