What's Your Life Song?

Had to share these lyrics with you this morning. I say along with this song this morning and it got me thinking about my Life Song? I want for my life exactly what this song sings. And I too hope at the end of the day that my heart is found true.

Empty Hands held high
Such Small sacrifice
If not joined with my life
I sing in vain tonight
May the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to you

Chorus:
Let my lifesong sing to You
Let my life song sing to You
I want to sign your name
to the end of this day
Knowing that my heart was true

Let my lifesong sing to You
Lord, I give my life
A Living sacrifice
To reach a world in need
To be your hands and feet
So may the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to you
Chorus
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Let my lifesong sing to You

What a wonderful life song!

I heard this song when I was a fairly new believer and I prayed that I would have "My Father's Eyes."

"Father’s Eyes" by Amy Grant
I may not be every mother's dream for her little girl.
And my face may not grace the mind of everyone in the world.
But that's all right as long as I can have one wish I pray.
When people look inside my life, I want to hear them say.
CHORUS:
She's got her Father's eyes, her Father's eyes
Eyes that find the good in things, When good is not around.
Eyes that find the source of help, When help just can't be found.
Eyes full of compassion, seeing every pain.
Knowin' what you're going through, and feeling it the same.
Just like my Father's eyes, my Father's eyes, my Father's eyes
Just like my Father's eyes.
And on that day when we will pay for all the deeds we have done,
Good and bad they'll all be had to see by everyone
And when you're called to stand and tell just what you saw in me,
More than anything I know, I want your words to be
REPEAT CHORUS

Love it!

Cam and I played this song during a slide show at the end of our wedding and we dedicated it to his Dad, Greg, who had passed away 4 years prior to our marriage. We imagined that Greg had prayed this prayer for me. Now we are praying this for the special ones who'll one day marry our kids.

"Somewhere in the World"
by Wayne Watson
Somewhere in the world today
A little girl will go out to play
All dressed up in mama's clothes
At least the way that I suppose it goes
Somewhere in the world tonight
Before she reaches to turn out the light
She'll be prayin' from her tender heart
A simple prayer that's a work of art

Chorus:
And I don't even know her name
But I'm prayin' for her just the same
That the Lord would write His name upon her heart
Cause somewhere in the course of this life
(My)little boy will need a godly wife
So hold onto Jesus, baby, wherever you are

Somewhere in the world out there
That little girl's learnin' how to care
She's pickin' up her mama's charms
Or maybe, swingin' round in her daddy's arms
Somewhere in the world to be
Though the future's not real clear to me
Theirs could be a tender love
Grounded in eternal love above

Repeat Chorus

That is one of my favorite songs! It is neat to actually read the words and think about what they mean! Thanks for the encouraging entry!

Okay, totally crying right now! Love all the songs! I think that there are different songs for different days, but all sung in honor of the one true God. The Lord of our lives and our ROCK! Praise God for all that he does and all the things that He will do. May my heart always say, "I love you, Lord!"

I am sure there are some days where the song sounds more like a Meat Loaf song however. You know the one about the Bat. ;)

I am touched an quite emotional right now. Shannon, no one can say you hid your love for Jesus or say you didn't tell them. You are blessed to have those who love the Lord surround you. I am blessed to have kids who love their Jesus.
Love, Mom

Shan I finally found the lyrics I was looking for:

Life Of Praise Lyrics
Artist: Casting Crowns
Album: Casting Crowns
Track: Life Of Praise

-----------------------------------

I will love You, Lord always
Not just for the things You've done for me
And I will praise You all my days
Not just for the change You've made in me
I'll praise you for You are holy, Lord
And I'll lift my hands, but You are worthy of so much more

Chorus:
For You are awesome, God of the Nations,
Lion of Judah, Rock of the Ages, Alpha, Omega
You're worthy of all praise
More that these hands I'll raise
I'll live a life of praise

I will serve You Lord, always for You are my strength
When I am weak
I will never be afraid for You are my rock and You protect me
But I'll praise You for You are holy, Lord
And I'll lift my hands, but You are worthy of so much more
