Books Please
Okay I know I have several friends out there that are avid book readers. I am leaving on a jet plane (sorry couldn't resist) on Saturday for a long travel day from Pasco to Anaheim, CA. Just me, so I need some entertainment. And since I don't get the time to read much other than children's books I really want a "cant put down" kind of a book to take. So Any suggestions would be great!!
For those of you interested I am going to CHA. Craft and Hobby Trade show. It's the big one folk! And I know I will be all excited when I am there, but it's been a little hard to get excited for it with all the sickies around here. I will be working at the Daisy Bucket Booth. I'll try to post while I am there, since I think I will be helping the Bucket with their blog during the show!
Anyway, lets start the book suggestions coming. Fiction would be preferred!

I would recommend "My Sister's Keeper" and "The Memory Keeper's Daughter". Both are books read by Molly and Annie's bookclub that I've decided to read on my own and enjoyed. Have fun on your trip! If you're looking for something a little more dry and boring, I highly recommend "The Theory & Practice of Group Psychotherapy", which I'm currently struggling to get through ;)

"The Secret Life of Bees" was really good and I love the "Poisonwood Bible". I've read it twice.
Have a fun trip!
Sis Michelle
It's nice to see my sister and I have the same taste in books. Read both of those and loved them too.
Jamie, do those two books go together?
Okay Jamie, Brooks has the same Psychotherapy book in our bookcase, if you need some help I am sure he can help out.
I think I might look for the books you suggested to Shannon.

I fully agree with both Jamie and Michelle - since you've already read the ones Michelle suggested, Jamie's picks are both winners! A few others:
Kite Runner
Any Jodi Picoult book (she wrote "My Sister's Keeper"
Marley and Me (haven't read, but I have heard good things about this one)
Safe travels - sounds like a fun trip!!
Molly
I think I have borrowed nearly every novel I have read! So sad. Anyhow... I just looked at my bookshelf and see one called 'And the Shofar Blew' (the title almost kept me from reading it). It is by Francine Rivers... and I LOVE her writing. I remember it was a tear jerker! It's your for the trip if you want it.
I am just finishing up Marley and Me. I LOVED it. Not sure if it would be your cup of tea, but having a Big, Naughty Lab, it made me smile, lots. You should give it a shot.
Not much of a reader (besides magazines) but...have a great trip! That sounds wonderful, fun and relaxing!
Glad you are all starting to feel better, you have been in my prayers!
Love, Les
You're more than welcome to borrow "For One More Day" by Mitch Alboom (author of Tuesdays with Morrie) I haven't had the chance to read it yet...it should be a good one (tear jerker)! I also love Francine Rivers and Jan Karon, and Nicholas Spraks and....
Love you,
Katie
I recommend anything by Dee Henderson - love her!
I haven't read a book since Justin was born with the exception of my bible and "A Purpose Driven Life" so I guess I'm no help. I used to love John Grisham books and have several if you want one of them. They are easy reads and are sorta mystery/action. I also loved Jane Auhl (sp?), she wrote "Clan of the Cave Bear"; "The Valley of White Horses"...they are a little graphic and quite long though maybe not what you want for your trip.
No, the titles sound real similar but they don't go together.
Jamie
I just finnished the new Nicholas Sparks book, Dear John. A great read and very fast. Hard to put down and it takes you right back to feeling with your first love.
I was getting on here to recommend the "Secret Life of Bees," but it looks like others have beat me to it. It's so wonderful! Have fun!!!
